Port fee schedule
GLIX charges what it costs to run the exchange. Fees recover the colocation footprint, switching hardware, optical capacity, and operations. There is no per-gigabit billing and no markup on cross-connects.
No fee has been set. Every amount on this page is a placeholder. Publish figures only once the facility, transport, and hardware costs behind them are contracted.

Included in the port fee
- Switch port, optic, and the GLIX side of the demarcation.
- Dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 addressing on the peering fabric.
- Sessions with both route servers, including RPKI and IRR filtering.
- Unlimited bilateral sessions with other participants.
- Jumbo frame support and access to the looking glass.
- Around-the-clock NOC escalation for fabric faults.
Not included
- The cross-connect from your cage to the GLIX cage. This is ordered from, and billed by, the facility operator. GLIX adds no markup.
- Your own router, optic, and colocation at the facility.
- IP transit. GLIX is a peering fabric and does not sell transit.
- Per-gigabit charges. There is no traffic-based component to the fee.
Common questions
Is there a contract term?
Term, notice period, and any early termination provision are TBD and will be set out in the participation agreement.
Do I need a port at every facility?
No. A single port at any node reaches every participant across the fabric, because all sites share one layer 2 broadcast domain. Members take a second port at a different facility for resilience, not for reach.
Are there discounts for non-profits or research networks?
Any reduced-fee category for research, education, municipal, or non-profit participants is TBD.
How is the fee set?
Fees are reviewed against the actual operating cost of the exchange. The governing body and review cadence are TBD.
